Dr. Jeffrey Sapyta received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Vanderbilt University and completed his internship at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Sapytas research interests have broadly focused on child/adolescent mental health services, program evaluation, and applying longitudinal methods to investigating mental health treatment engagement. He is interested in the impact of patient treatment engagement (e.g., therapeutic alliance, pretreatment expectancies) on treatment success. Dr. Sapyta is currently coordinating the POTS II study. The study is investigating the impact of treatment augmentation for children who have obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) but have not responded fully to medication treatment. Dr. Sapyta also conducts cognitive-behavioral interventions for children and adults. His clinical practice includes treating individuals with OCD, anxiety, depression, anger management issues, or school refusal. |
