Do you (or your child) have academic difficulties in the areas of reading, writing, or math ?
In addition to ADHD evaluations, we offer psychoeducational testing to assist in the educational planning for a student. In some cases, a psychoeducational evaluation is conducted when it is suspected that a learning disability is contributing to difficulty in school. This testing consists of two primary parts. An IQ test (the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children–Fourth Edition) is administered to gather information about ability. Academic achievement tests (the Woodcock–Johnson Tests of Achievement) are administered to gather information about academic skills in a specific area. This testing can be conducted at the same appointment as the ADHD evaluation or at a later time. Therefore, if you are unsure about whether this testing would be helpful, you can talk more about it with the clinician at your appointment and decide at the end of the ADHD evaluation.
